military.com is a great site, but I do have some advice!
1) Depending on how sheltered her life was it might be a bit difficult, but manageable.
2) Boot camp will be an experience that is for sure!!! But she can rest assured that everyone goes into it with apprehension.
Tell her that if they do the exercise where she is in a room with tear gas (don't worry it is safe just irritates) to just breathe and it will be over with. It irritates, but that is it, and it is over quite quickly.
It helps if you are shape before you go to bootcamp.
Also- she should never be the first person to pipe up, even if she knows the answer! The best way to survive b.c. is to somewhat be invisible and the d.s. won't pick on you as much. Do your best, but don't always show off and try to always be the best.
3. It might harder for her to get the job that she wants with that score, but a 65 still leaves many doors open. She and her recruiter need to talk about all of her options and what hopes her 6 years will look like. It is all about communication at this stage, and she shouldn't sign any paper without reading it over carefully a few times!
If you want any other advice just holler! And I do recommend going to
Benefiting the US Army, US Navy, US Air Force, Marine Corps, Coast Guard - Military.com because they answer many questions there!
Tell her good luck and to just enjoy the new experiences! A positive attitude goes a long way!
