Default Chinese New Year Parade

Hi

Thinking of going to the parade on 1st Feb for a photo opportunity, however my husband would rather go to a super bowl party.

Is it a very big crowd? Is it intimidating? I'd be by myself and don't like huge crowds.

It's usually quite cold, which has a bit of an impact on the crowd.

It's a short parade, basically around the block. It can be basically you by yourself watching or you in the midst of 4 deep or even more--just depends where you sit and how warm it gets.

I think there are usually some in Rockville, often inside a Mall or something which is a bit warmer.

(FWIW the Chinatown parade is generally pro-Taiwan, and the one in Rockville is more politically neutral). Most of the Chinese embassy staff will not go to Chinatown for the celebrations.
