I am moving from Phoenix area to DC
I know you get this questions a lot. I am moving DC in the next couple of months I thought my job transfer was going to be Minneapolis but I got a call 2 weeks ago that it will be DC. I will be working at Dulles International Airport. I was wondering if there are good places within 30 mins to the airport that are nice, and safe. I am willing to spend up to $1300 a month on an apartment. I was looking at Leesburg, Reston, Fairfax, Chantilly, Sterling, and Manassas are any of these areas nice? I am hoping for a 2 bedroom apartment with aleast 800sq ft and cat friendly. Is any of this feasible.
Thank you for your help!!!

did you try Craigslist? You can get an idea of what rent is for the areas that you are looking into thru craigslist.

Look at Sterling. It's right next to Dulles. Unlike Phoenix, all of the area within a 30-mile radius of Dulles are safe. Some other areas worth taking a look at and also close to Dulles are:
Ashburn, South Riding, Chantilly, Herndon, Reston, Fairfax. Some parts of Manassas can be a little rundown. Instead of Manassas look at Gainesville and Haymarket. Only issue with Gainesville and Haymarket is you're going to have to deal with some traffic.
My brother-in-law relocated from Phoenix to Dulles 2 years ago and he lives in Gainesville. He works for Delta Airlines.
