Default Poetry lounges

I'm a 25 year old male interested in poetry, I write and I'm looking for venues where amatures can recite their work. I'd also like to know if anybody knows of any publishing houses. Any and all information would be greatly appreciated.

Buboys & Poets comes immediately to mind. While I've never been there, I think you'll find what you're looking for there.

I think the individual was looking for locations in DC and was looking back in February.

I see this is your first post - be careful putting your phone number out on a public forum. That's not wise. You can direct message individuals if you feel comfortable enough to share personal information.

Just trying to help you stay safe.

If you are going to give your phone number out on a National
Forum , make sure that it's a throw away phone : maybe a Trac
Phone ,because you are going to get a Boat Load of Nuts Flakes
and Quakes. I think that most (Poets) are looking for National
Venues for open mike nights...I'm shocked that Tulsa Has So
Many....As far as the OP Publishing His Work..GET A AGENT..I'm a
Poet from Oklahoma (Tulsa) who lives in CALIFORNIA , and poetry
is a hard GENRE To Break Into When It Comes To Getting Publish...

Well, perhaps you're right. I just assumed that the DC subforum posting meant he was looking locally.
