Hi,
I stay in bethesda,MD.
I need to visit Buffalo,Ny urgently in next thursday. As the airfare in this short time is pretty high I want to know about the other options. I do not want to drive in this winter season. So the option left is bus. As i am pretty new to DC area, I don't know much about the inter-city buses and after searching internet I was unable to find any direct bus service between DC and Buffalo.
I don't think there's direct service. There's Greyhound or Amtrak but you have to transfer and go out of your way. Probably like a 12 hour trip.
I think it'd be fine to drive, honestly. Snow seems to have subsided and the drive is all major roads. I'd keep checking the forecast, but if there's no snow predicted you're probably fine.
If you do drive, don't worry about it too much. I've driven up through the Adirondacks in January and February with no problem, they cleaned the main roads up pretty well.
Southwest has numerous flights to Buffalo but they fly out of BWI (only?). Also, you could take the train but you'd have to go to NYC - Albany - Buffalo. There's something now called megabus. It goes directly ( believe from NYC to Buffalo). You need to do some research. Good luck.

Reason: typo
Southwests fairs are pretty cheap IF you fly out of BWI. I live in NY and make the trip to DC often. Right now the roads are fine. It would be a great drive.
Weather will not be a problem on the interstates unless you are driving in the middle of a blizzard, and the chances of that happening are low. If weather is the only thing holding you back from driving, I wouldn't let it.
I need to get from Buffalo, NY to DC in May. Someone mentioned a bus I can take that costs like a few bucks. Is anyone aware of this and can you give me more information. Thanks.
