Default speeding ticket

I know every ticket is different, but I am just wondering if anyone has an idea on how much a speeding ticket would cost in DC? The photo enforced camera flashed when I was going about 10 mph above the speed limit. I wonder if the price is the same for any speed (unless the system can tell how fast I was going?).

Thanks.

Are those cameras for speeding? I thought they were looking for people running red lights. But, in regards to speeding tickets, the fine does vary. And, if you are going 20mph(?) above the speed limit you can get reckless driving tacked on and even your license taken. Tho, I am sure it varies from state to state.

Speed camera tickets are only punishable with fines and are not considered to be moving violations. They have no way of proving who the driver was so you wouldn't suffer the penalties for reckless driving.

But they CAN determine how fast you were going based on clocking the vehicle as it passes over the horizontal lines stretched across the lanes. I got caught going 10MPH over on Benning road and the fine was $150. If you choose to take it to court and you have a somewhat decent excuse/reason they will usually take half off of the fine. But if you ignore it, it will double.

It's $50 for 11-15 mph over the speed limit, but it might depend on where you are. If you pay it after the "due date", then it doubles and after 2 outstanding tickets you can be booted/towed. If you weren't driving, there's a form to write down who was, or you can choose to fight it in person or via mail.

Yeah, you can guess how I just found that out....

I have no idea. This was on M right by the Nationals Stadium in SE. Different states/cities have different fines, but it could also be different based on the neighborhood (i.e. higher fines in a residential area).
