Need Irish restaurant recommendation in Arlington Area
Hi --
My father's ashes are being interred at Arlington, and 25 - 30 members of my family will be attending. We would like to visit a restaurant afterward, and my mother has one very specific request -- she wants a place that serves black pudding (aka black sausage, blood pudding/ sausage). It also needs to be Irish. I guess that makes two very specific requests .
She's eaten at a restaurant that serves it before but can't remember the name.
This is taking place on a weekday in early May. We will be arriving at the restaurant around 2:30 - 3:00, and we'd like to keep the cost under $30 per person. People of all ages will be attending, but there will be several who are in their 70s/80s.
To sum up... We are looking for:
An Irish restaurant (not a pub)
Near Arlington
Serves black pudding
Can accommodate a party of 25 - 30
Open at 2:30 PM on a weekday (Friday)
Cost under $30 per person
All suggestions are appreciated.
Thank you!

The only Irish place I can think of in Arlington is RiRa, but I don't think they serve black pudding. And it's actually a pub, so it might not be the environment you're looking for.

I have no idea if they serve black pudding, but you can try O'Connell's in Old Town Alexandria. It's about 15 minutes away from Arlington Cemetary.

Thanks for taking the time to reply. My mom has decided a pub wouldn't be such a bad thing afterall and is now considering Four Courts or Four Provinces... I think they are both in Arlington.
Thanks again for the reply!

Thank you so much for taking the time to reply. My mom does not want to go to Alexandria, even though it's just 15 minutes away... I appreciate your suggestion and will keep it in mind if she decides Alexendria would be OK.

It's not Irish, but Bistro Bistro in Shirlington is where my family went after my grandfather's interment in Arlington, also in May.
They were very accommodating.

Irelands Four Courts is a great place but, I am not sure anywhere round here has black pudding. They may be able to accomodate you though if you give them a call.
Sorry about your dad but thank you and your family for his service....

Thanks. We ended up going with Four Courts. When we saw that they served black pudding on their breakfast menu, I gave them a call and spoke w/the General Manager. He told me they have events from Arlington all the time, and, when I mentioned black pudding, said, “whatever you want, we will make it happen” and that they would love to have us. I had my mom call him, and she agreed that this was the place.
Thank you - my dad was proud to have served in WWII.

We ended up choosing Four Courts, but thank you for your suggestion.
