Default Is Ward 4 safe?
I'm looking for a cheap area of DC... and I was wondering if the Ward 4 / Colonial Village, Shepherd Park, North Portal Estates area was safe?

According to DC Neighborhood cluster Profile - NeighborhoodInfo DC it is one of the safer (yet not super wealthy rich) areas of DC. Am I correct in assuming this?

Or is it still a part of the NW, DC atmosphere?

Carrot2000 is on a distinguished road
Colonial Village/Sheperd Park and North Portal neighborhoods are pretty safe. They are not, however, inexpensive! I have friends who grew up in the area and while I wouldn't describe them as super-wealthy, they are affluent.
