Default Looking for teaching jobs & need your help!

I'm a current teacher in NYC and am moving to DC this summer to be with my fiancé. He's going to school in Bethesda, so I'm looking for jobs in the DC/NOVA/MD area.

My question(s) for you is:
Does anyone know of any solid school districts that are hiring for secondary Spanish and/or English?

What are schools that I should definitely apply to? What are the ones that I should steer clear of? Any other advice I should know ahead of time?

Any help at all is GREATLY appreciated! Thanks in advance!

I'll be moving up there this summer also and have been searching for teaching jobs. There are TONS for Spanish teachers. I use teachers-teachers.com, and I go to the DOE sites for VA, MD and DC. There are ALWAYS positions posted for bilingual classroom teachers and teachers of Spanish for foriegn language. I teach Sign Language so I'm not having as many postings come up. If you would prefer a private school do a search for the private schools and go to their individual sites....takes a while but you may find something. Also check out Craigslist as some of the schools post there.

Hope this helps.

My wife applied to various school systems in the metro area. She was contacted last week for 3 interviews. The ones that called back were Prince William County and Arlington. We will decide where to live depending on what county she gets hired on with.

Thanks for the input!
I was thinking about maybe subbing in the area if I can't find a position... Can a daily substitute make enough money to pay the normal bills in the DC area?
