Greenbelt Station Safety??
Hi. I will be working nightshift soon, leaving work in downtown DC @ midnight going to the Greenbelt station. I've never had a problem during the day, but was wondering how safe that station is late at night. Especially concerned about the parking lot. Would love to hear from anyone else commuting late at night. Thanks!

I don't commute late at night, but I've been using College Park and Greenbelt stations regularly. It's relatively safe. It's also relatively isolated for a Metro station on the parking lot side since it's not immediately adjacent to any commerical or residential developments, just the Beltway (the other side has a MARC commuter rail station and pretty nice large community). Metro stations on a whole have a tendency to be safe even in the worst parts of the city and their property are always well-lighted. One thing I would make sure of, is parking as close to the station as possible. The parking lot there is huuuge (3,300 spaces, Metro's largest according to Wikipedia) and you don't want to walk to your car very late at night if it's by itself far from the station.
