Relocating Job in Suitland Ideas For Housing
Hello all. My husband will working in Suitland MD and our family will be relocating there shortly. I would love some suggestions on some areas to investigate for housing. We have two daughters ages 3 and 5 and would like to find an area suitable for young families. My husband's job does not have readily available parking, so things near public transit would be great. I would love some help narrowing down some areas. Thanks.

For young and single, the hippest trendy neighborhood would be something like Capitol Hill, with a reverse commute to Suitland out the Suitland Parkway. Live around Eastern Market, the Navy Yard, or the Capitol itself. Bit of nightlife, many group houses so you can live rather cheaply.
For a family, look out Route 4 to areas like Upper Marlboro or even further out into Calvert County, which has good schools in areas like Dunkirk, Owings, Chesapeake Beach and North Beach. You would, however, need a car for those options as the public transit options to Suitland are basically local buses and the Green line, which doesn't go that far past Suitland.
