Can someone that lives in the area give me an idea of monthly living expenses outside of rent?

I am bascially looking for:
Cable/Internet Expense (and what kind of cable ie digital dvr etc)
Water
Electricity
Garbage
Gas
Vehicle Insurance (yes, I know this will vary greatly)
Any others that I might be missing?

I'm trying to nail down a good idea of what living expenses would be outside of rent for budgeting purposes. I understand that some landlords pay some of the expenses above? Is that the norm, or is that the exception?

Thanks

Most landlords will pay water/sewage, though not all.

Don't make it more difficult than it sounds, cable/internet go to verizon's or comcast's website or whoever services the area and find out, auto insurance in virginia can vary its not that high usually about $600 a policy but it can vary, electricity is about 10 cents per kilowatt hour, find out the square footage, and how much you'll be needing, garbage find out if its included either in the landlord's rent or box, or if they have pick-up service, as far gas check with local utility Find Average Utility Prices for Washington | Compare Washington DC Utility Costs to Other Cities with the WhiteFence Index (http://www.whitefenceindex.com/city/Washington-DC/ - broken link), I am not sure how accurate this site is but its among the more accurate ones Ive seen, I've used the national insurance

Insure.com - Best & Worst States for Auto Insurance Premiums

Not sure about renter's insurance, you can use the same website to look at home owner's insurance which isn't too high
