T55SEPER is on a distinguished road
Default Will be working near China Town area..Help!!

It looks I might get transferred to DC/Chinatown area.

I have large family. I am looking to move in an area that my commute won't be so bad, but the schools are good. I have to travel by metro, no car.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, MD or VA is fine with me. I have about 500,000 to spend on townhouse or small house.

Thanks a bunch!!!!!

The Gallery Place/Chinatown Metro station should be fine on the work end. All of the Red, Green, and Yellow lines stop there, and you can connect to the Red from either Orange or Blue. The best schools are in Virginia (Arlington, Fairfax, and Loudon counties) and Maryland (Montgomery County, maybe southern Howard County), and where the good schools are, the housing tends to be more expensive. Right now, $500K is about the low point for a decent house in any of those areas, while in most it will get you a nice townhouse. Everyone wants a commute that's not so bad, but not that many people accomplish it. It depends what else you want vis a vis that large family. Do you need suburbia, or is high-density doable?
