How crazy is it seeing the fireworks in washington dc during the festival? Would you recommend the Channel Inn - as it is on the Potamic River (kind of spendy)? I am handicapped and am trying to figure out if this is a good idea for me or not. any suggestions. thanks nancy

DC is very crowded during those type of events, like the crowds are look like Wall street in Manhattan. but make sure you book your room in advance though. for the most part any hotel near the mall or downtown is expensive.

- i work for the boat co. down the street. It's a good idea (although you should book a room there early, as they fill up, as do our river cruises). also, request a water-front room. i hope that helps. Rick, DC Cruises
