Default Food markets

Hey guys,

I'm new to the area (and country) so just asking for some advice please.

What are the markets like in DC and the surrounding area. Are there any that are well worth checking out and how do the prices compare with supermarkets?

Thanks

I have not yet been, but I keep hearing about Eastern Market in DC...apparently it is great.
I did go to the Courthouse Farmer's Market one Saturday, not really worth the time it takes to park.
I have also hear the Falls Church Farmer's market is a good one.

I know I have not provided you with much, but no one else has responded!

I haven't really compared prices, but Eastern Market is pretty good. For fish you can also check out the Fish Market in the SW Waterfront area.

There are also various weekly farmer's markets throughout the area. I haven't checked them all out, but they've got some in Dupont Circle, Old Town Alexandria, near the White House, Penn Quarter, near USDA, and Arlington.

Also, for cheaper produce you can check out some of the Korean supermarkets (H Mart). They've usually got a decent (and interesting) selection and are inexpensive.
