My vote is for Silver Spring. MD is the place to be if you're going to live in DC. Only live in VA if you absolutely must have access to Vietnamese food.
I was leaning toward Silver Spring...but....I DO absolutely MUST have access to Vietnamese food....hm..decisions, decisions
Cuz your enlightened citizens voted for a governor who celebrates Confederate History Month. And I thought Perry from Texas was bad.
You DO know that Virginia is a pretty large state right? That the Northern Virginia area only makes up about 30% of the population of the entire state of Virginia? That Northern Virginia is essentially a blue blob on a red state?
Leave it to a liberal to paint an entire state with the same brush
How about all of Silver Spring beyond downtown...is there much there? All residential or interesting pockets of places to go? Is the residential of SS setup better than the residential of Arlington? Meaning, restaurants interspersed throughout, be able to walk somewhere, etc.?
Outside of downtown Silver Spring...does it turn suburban real fast...like Fairfax County suburban?
Which is just more pleasant on the eye...NOVA side or Silver Spring side...among the residential beyond just downtown SS?
Silver Spring outside of downtown has lots of houses interspersed with strip malls with various restaurants and small shops. Basically it's like every suburb.
"Outside of downtown Silver Spring...does it turn suburban real fast...like Fairfax County suburban?"
yes, with many more older inner suburbs
"Which is just more pleasant on the eye...NOVA side or Silver Spring side...among the residential beyond just downtown SS?"
In general, I think NOVA is more pleasant. I currently live in outer Spring Spring, so maybe the grass is just greener on the other side.
