I cycle quite regularly now, I get home in no time doing so.

It's probably not for everyone cause traffic is pretty bad, but I have no issues manuevering around cars (mostly cause you have no choice but to do so).

You might want to consider that now that the weather is better for riding.

I've been doing the SmartBike thing for over a year now, and it's great. Door-to-door my commute is in the neighborhood of 15 minutes, which you can't really beat around here.

Now I'm fortunate in that there is a SmartBike kiosk near my home, and one directly across from my office downtown. It wouldn't work for everybody, but cycling in general is a great way to get around the city.

You can take Upshur all the way to Mathewson and then down across Rock Creek Park and up Tilden to Connecticut. Try using Google Maps sometime.

There are trails in there, however the bike trails are in real bad shape in some places and you see many cyclists on the road which really annoyes a lot of the motorists...

The section of Beech Drive is very short and there is a trail between Broach Branch and Tilden, but you don't need it. If it pisses off some motorist, so be it. Nobody gave them exclusive rights to Beech Dr.
