I missed registering for the Army 10 miler by less than 2 hours! Both of my running buddies got bibs. I registered for a transfer on line, but there are already dozens of requests posted. Does anyone know of another way to go about getting a bib? I don't live in DC and this will (hopefully) be my first time to run this one!

Thanks!

Closer to the race, you will find people trying to sell (often for cost) their bibs because, for whatever reason, they are not running the race. The race organizers strongly discourage runners from running with other people's bibs, but there is no way to really police it. The only down side for you is that your official time will be logged for eternity under the name of the runner whose bib you acquired. In this regard, I know many runners who would be devastated to run a personal best race time and not get the "credit" of having their own name listed with the time.

Just in case anyone else is interested in this thread, I thought I would provide an update. I was successful in getting a transfered bib through the official transfer process on the ATM site. It took over two months of repeatedly checking the site. Don't bother posting on the "buyers" tab, just keep checking the sellers tab. I bought the bib for face value then paid ATM the $22 transfer fee so that my time will be my time.

So, hang in there if you are trying to get a bib. The process works if you are diligent (and maybe a little lucky)

I've run the Army 10-miler three times. It's by far my favorite road race! Good Luck!
