Hello All,

I recently moved to Dc from Chi about 6months. My fiancee and I found a small but perfectly located Condo for rent within the SW waterfront area of DC , however we are looking to make this are home and have looked for such in DC MD and VA.

We have looked commerically (EYA homes) but they have been 400-800K. The lower end prices are in Hyattsville, Md in which we were told the area is not the best to spend that type of money. Arlington, Va is nice but 800k it out of the price range, DC( Brookland area) has some SE homes in the 400k but again we are unfamiliar and want to make a wise decision as owning a home is a long term investment It seems as though, people either have lot of money or travel very far to get to work.

The dilemma is deciding between the 3. It is only me and him, but kids will happen in the future, but we like metroplitan area, good eateries, ok community, diversity, and a good background.

If some one can give me ideas which areas to look into, advice. It would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

I work within the L'efant vacinity which is 15 min from where I live, but I would say 45min. I am looking for Metro accessibility.
