Agreed. If they aren't breaking any laws then why complain? It's their weekend of the year. If you aren't a veteran then shut up and stay inside if it bothers you so much. They did something for this country that many of you would never even think about so get over it.

Also, what exactly is your beef with Virginia? No matter *what* the post is about, you decide it's appropriate to bash the state. Did you have some ex-bf or gf from Richmond that was really mean to you?
Their message is they want the US to actively look for MIAs, despite there most likely not being any more. The military changed the standard, that someone seen killed, but no body recovered, they are MIA. So you could have been in an airplane that explodes, no chance of l iving, but classified as MIA because there was no body.

I shouldn't be able to cross the street while hundreds of bikers run red lights without official police permission?

It's happened one time to you. Get over it. Do you cry when there's a parade on the fourth of July? What about if a fireman or cop dies? When they have a funeral for him, do you get upset if they are in your way?

They have POLICE controlling traffic. They don't have a bunch of people not authorized to run red lights, run red lights. The only "police" involved were PG county cops, out of their jurisdiction.

I used to love them when they rode on 395. I usually gave a thumbs up to them. Felt like a little patriot.

It's one weekend, OP. At least you don't have to put up with having a very noisy interstate right next to your bedroom window like I did for 5 years.

Actually no, funerals possessions can run red lights without police escorts.

I don't know where you were today but I had a front row seat--right at the base of Sacrifice and Valor. I took 150 photos including a few of the motorcade leading the rally over the Memorial Bridge. They were quite clearly DC MPD. So they had every right to come over the bridge and block traffic. I also walked all the way to 12th street, and the only official vehicles I saw were MPD and Park Police.

But I agree that a lot of the participants don't seem to support the event's true message and purpose. En route to the mall today I followed a classy guy in a wifebeater emblazoned with an image of an over-endowed naked woman and a flag. Somehow I don't think he was there to support our female veterans, or any veterans for that matter.

Dude, I think you just what to complain about something. So, you couldn't cross the street...SO WHAT! Were you going to work or something?! Like someone said, some are vets. Some are honoring their friends.

What happens when the circus comes to town?

It's not that serious, dude. Chill!!
