Default Whidbey Relo (Oak Harbor) with horses, dogs

Any other horse people who would like to provide details on equestrian life on Whidbey, particularly the Oak Harbor area? Most important consideration is decent vets as several of my horses are in the geriatric ward. These days I don't compete but ride just for pleasure so looking for trails too! Would love to know details of the hay/feed/bedding situation in that area and any horse organizations or clubs that are active. I'm relocating from western Oregon but years ago lived in Seattle so fairly familiar with western Washington. I will be leasing a farm in Oak Harbor for about a year or so, then buying preferably close to trails.

Thanks for any info anyone cares to send my way!

Default Some info for you

I have friends that live on the island and have horses. Try contacting The Whidbey Island Pony Club, they just had a huge 3 day event a couple of weeks ago. Welcome to the Whidbey Island Pony Club I know that some of their members or affiliates have geriatric horses as well. Good luck, sorry I don't have more info.

There are plenty of good options for vets on North Whidbey as well as feed provides and a few stables in the area. Leasing property near trails could be a challenge but not impossible. There are many small 5 acre horse ranches in the area and a network of people who share your interests. Why are you planning to move to Oak Harbor?
