Seems WA property is bucking the national trend (again)... nearly a 30% assessment increase per the county tax Assessor for my land...

Owning things is an open door invitation for every kind of government to pick your pocket. Government taxes ownership.

I own practically nothing. No car. I rent. I pay sales tax and income tax. That's it.

Get rid of your stuff. Give the finger to government. If you ain't got it they can't tax it.

(Wait till next year....want to bet your property taxes go up again? And the next year? Are you seeing a trend here....)

Here in Clark county my latest appraisal cut the value of my property and raised the value my home netting out to a small increase in valuation. I expect taxes to rise slightly.

My Clark County Valuation reduced 30% (as it did last yr. ) but of course levy will increase to result in an increased tax bill.

I would say there is a case for a class action suit against SOME county's appraisals and their Board of Equalization (the 'rubber stamp' approval agency, that is the property owners recourse).

My home is back down to the value I was fighting for in 2006... (Which is several hundred thousand LESS than what I have been paying taxes on.)

As previously mentioned, I prefer to own investment property and have my renters pay my taxes.
