I can't say enough about Bham. Loved it even more than I thought we would. Took a ton of pics and movies. Did a lot of hiking and my fav was Fairhaven. Too adorable. Found we would live anywhere between Larrabee State Park and South Hill ideally. Also like Whatcom Falls, Geneva and Silver Beach. I felt very much at home and can't wait to move up in July! It was beautiful with a great vibe
Haha, I wouldn't doubt it. After we walked around and tried a few of the vendor yummies, we sat there for hours and people watched. It was beautiful. I got teary eyed, lol.

I don't know that I can pick a favorite. I mean, I loved Fairhaven, especially Village Books, but I loved downtown too, and just about every part of Bellingham I visited.

Where are you moving from? I'd love to have everything here sold by June, but who knows with the housing market.

Glad you had a great time. I take it neither of you got to Boulevard Park?

It was amazing down there today. Huge Whitecaps covered Bellingham Bay as the wind howled. Quite show.

We are moving from Carlsbad Ca. What about you guys?
Bill, we went everywhere including Boulevard Park. Loved it. Bham actually reminds me a ton of Carlsbad. Just with lots of trees! My favorite scenic area so far was Teddy Bear Cove. The view is spectacular. My daughter cant wait to scuba in Puget Sound. Bill, you were right, Sudden Valley is a bit too far from the action for us. Pretty area though. Same with lake samish. We were exploring and hiking from dawn to dark and fell asleep by 9 each night! All that crisp air I guess! Can't wait to be neighbors!

Nope, we didn't go down to Boulevard Park this trip. We kept meaning to, but I was driving and I had 5 other people telling me where to go, lol.

I would have killed to watch the ocean swells... I love stormy oceans.

Kinda bummed we missed the snow. We were prepared for it. Didn't even need thermals last weekend.

Hamster, love Carlsbad. I live in Moorpark, in Ventura County.

We didn't make it to Sudden Valley. Wish we did.

New 16-screen movie theater coming to Bellingham's Barkley area

Quote:
A 16-screen movie theater operated by Regal Cinemas will be built west of the Barkley Haggen store in an undeveloped field.

Construction of the 68,000-square-foot facility is scheduled to begin next spring, with the theater opening in the first half of 2012, said Jeff Kochman, president of Barkley Company, which is developing the theater and surrounding property.
The movie theater is about the size of the Barkley Haggen store and will feature 3,200 stadium seats and Regal’s RealD 3D, which combines high-definition digital technology with 3-D images.

Huh. I wondered what they were going to do with that big empty field.

Seems kind of strange though - there's already three theaters in Bham that I know of -

The small one in Sehome next to the Keg
The big one in the mall
And a fair sized one on Sunset Avenue

That's not counting the Pickford which I think is opening soon, though I guess that's a different type of theater.

It does seem a little strange - is Bellingham really big enough for 4 movie theaters? I didn't go to the movies often when I lived up there, but when I did they were rarely full. Maybe they're closing one.

The Canucks love it here. Way cheaper.

They pay more than $11 bucks for a movie? Wow.

God Bless America, I guess.
