If you read my posts, I think you will find a lot of helpful information. Basically the rainy season is long, but it would be more accurate to call it the "drizzly season," because that's mostly what it is--gray and drizzly from October through June.
You will have pretty good access to medical centers; the largest medical center on the West Side of the Sound is the one I work for--Harrison Medical Center in Bremerton. You will have toll bridges to cross to get to other medical centers on the east side of the Sound in Tacoma, Seattle, etc. If you live in Poulsbo, however, instead of Port Orchard, you could take the Bainbridge Island ferry to Seattle, which is quicker, about 40 minutes; you can get discounts if you are a frequent traveler on the ferry (you buy a book of passes). Personally, I like Poulsbo much better than Port Orchard.
If you have any specific questions after you have read my other posts, just ask, and I'll try to answer them. Good luck!
