The economy seems to have influenced driving habits a lot here. Way more passive-aggressive (tailgating) driving now than say 5 years ago.

My beef is usually people who drive 45 everywhere. Speed limit 55, they drive 45, speed limit 25, they drive 45.

That seems to be rather age related here in NY.

I get a kick out of driver complaints / rants threads on the internet. I find it hilarious how the ranter could either be a perfectly good driver or is actually the person causing the problem most of the time (see above with the 45 everywhere comment). Everybody is right on the internets.

huh? Could you explain that first sentence? And could you explain the second regarding the "pick-up truck drivers"?

Used to travel the entire State quite a bit and the ONLY annoying drivers I ran into was in the Seattle area. Very aggressive and stupidly tailgated beyond belief just like here in Utah. Otherwise they were ok

Having done the CA to WA trip many times, one does notice a lowering of the dial through OR, and a re-heightening of it once entering WA (yes, as soon as you reach Vancouver).

One thing that I have noticed about that, and this is a stereotype (but so is this entire thread), is that some of the fastest/craziest drivers in Washington seem to be the tourists from Oregon. Considering that almost all roads in Oregon are 10 t0 15 MPH slower than Washington roads, I'm thinking maybe they feel the need to compensate when they get out of Oregon?

Haven't seen any of that in upper WA. Crazy, disrespectful Canadians maybe.

IMO WA drivers seem to be a little more patient. They are better drivers here then other states I lived, but also slower.

Oregon drivers make Washington drivers appear aggressive. In fact, some Oregon drivers seemed so mellow that I wondered if they were high (though otherwise their driving was fine).
