I've lived in vancouver my whole life. Though it has many things to do and opportunities, and really great schools (mt view and union) there are a lot underlying drug problems. Heroin is becoming increasingly common among peop people my age (18-22) and it can be a toxic environment, just due to its proximaty to portland mostly. The crime rate is really high in comparison to other places in washington, plus the population is 164,000 now. Id say it will only get worse, I'm moving as soon as I can. That being said I agree, places north of vancouver are nice, particularly Amboy and hockinson. Camas though? I don't know if you've ever been to camas...though a somewhat pretty place with a lot of really great history I'm not sure why anyone would want to live next to a big ugly paper mill that makes the entire town smell god aweful. Plus from what I've heard the school system isn't that great. I personally want to move somewhere on the olympic peninsula
