I've always been bored driving 512. It's not as busy as others, and there is not as much to see because it's lowered and there are few landmarks.

Default I-5 between Chehalis & Vancouver

The Seattle-Portland slog is mind-numbing for me. Starts with the urban traffic, then you settle in to various degrees of boring highway.

On glorious, clear days, you can get some spectacular volcano sightings, but even those are usually canceled by the clear-cut nearby hills.

Ha!! It's a lot better than a 450 mile detour thru Yakima, like there is right now. And, those clear-cut hills mean Jobs for WA/OR, much cheaper than buying from Canada.

I actually like the Palouse quite a bit, especially when the rolling hills are green or golden.

I-5 Marysville to/from Lynnwood gets my "icky" vote, esp with the continual construction around Everett.

Palouse is gorgeous!! South Tacoma to Vancouver is the most drab, depressing drive in the state, for sure! I also agree with the last post, from squirtle, that the Marysville-Lynwood-Edmonds is pretty drab, as well. It's always so dark and dreary through there.
Do ya think the state would mind replacing some of those Doug Firs with palm trees? And maybe some giant sunlamps would help, too!!

Of course I haven't been on every single stretch of hwy in WA state... but my husband and I love going for weekend drives and we've covered most of the stretches... and, well, you guys need to go drive "the loneliest hwy" - hwy 50 in Nevada. If you drive hwy 50, you won't find any hwy in WA boring. WA is beautiful! The Pacific Northwest is anything but boring.
