Dang, you could pick any highway in the Palouse and call it most boring.

My personal choice? 395 from Pasco to Ritzville, then I90 from Ritzville to the Cheney turn off.

Ah !! this is perfect for those of us prairie dogs who are hoping to keep the palouse 'remote and uninhabited' !!

I'm considerably more bored sitting at stoplights and on parking lot freeways

or... cruising through hours of forested roads with minimal vistas

but then I grew up being a truckdriver in eastern Colorado, WY, Kansas and Nebraska. Give me a full moon, snow glistening night on a lonesome prairie road, anytime !!. or the view of a powerful prairie lightning storm

I think Hiway 97 from Chelan to Tonasket. Each year I drive from Tacoma to Republic to visit friends. I start getting car sick when I get to this stretch of road. Coming back, I don't. I think it's because going there I have already been in the car for about 3 hours, coming back I am still relatively "fresh".

Another one is I-82 from Yakima to Ellensburg.
Just dry nothingness.
Although the sunsets are pretty and sometimes there are some deer.

The Manastash??!! I love that stretch of roadway! One of my favorite views is coming west looking into down into Ellesnburg and the Kittitas valley. Going east looking down into Selah and the seeing the backside of Mt. Rainier is gorgeous too!! One of my absolute favorite stretches of roadway in the state!

Oh well, to each our own.

'rocco and mustang, next time you're there, look at the cutouts. One of them has a break in the rock strata from a prehistoric earthquake.

Yakima to Ellensburg boring? I completely disagree. Fantastic grade differences on the freeway, great vistas of SW-S. Central mountains, and then if you are going WB, a beautiful view coming down the summit to the Kittitas (Ellensburg) valley. Never bored by that drive, but I guess if you had to do it everyday....

The Palouse, depending on the time of the year, can be beautiful with the rolling hills and different colors.

For me, it's from about George, WA to Ritzville along I-90. Absolutely nothing to see here, except for a brief glimpse of Moses Lake.

Fortunately, compared to many U.S. states, Washington has few boring stretches of highway!

I did do it everyday (and still do it frequently) and still never got tired of that drive ...going over the Manastash. Even going EB --or actually it's SE bound-- the view coming into Selah is fantastic and never ceases to amaze me.

missy, exactly where are you referring to? ...going up the grade out of the Kittatas valley?
