Smile Everett to Bellingham commute

We are considering moving to Bellingham and my husband is currently working in Everett. Would the commute from Bellingham to Everett and back be difficult? Right now he commutes from Seattle to Everett and it takes him 40-45 minutes each way.

Thanks in advance!!

I wouldn't do it. In most cases, it will likely take 75-90 minutes one way..
What is attracting you to Bellingham?
I like Bellingham a lot, but I hate long commutes even more. What about places closer to Everett? Too boring? Snohomish is kind of cool. People like Mill Creek. Edmonds and Mukilteo are certainly pretty.

Ummmmm no. Unless you're driving from South Everett to northern Bellingham in rush hour, it's an hour or less. The speed limit for roughly half the 60 miles is 70. (if you decide to commute, PM me and I'll tell you where the radar traps are.) I drive it very frequently.

I'm not suggesting that an hour commute is a great idea mind you, but let's at least be accurate.

The question is where in Everett, and where in Bellingham?

OK, thanks. I just figured being around 65 miles on the freeway and five minutes on either side to get to the freeway it would have to be longer, but I forgot about the 70 mph limit.

We'll definitely be in Southern Bellingham somewhere and he'll be working at Providence Hospital in Everett

Aye. Even accounting for traffic, it's an hour commute. A pretty drive, as well, though after doing it every day...

No worries. I just happen to drive that drive a great deal. On paper you'd be right.

That's actually good because you can avoid the freeway and at least go 99 and catch I-5 at Marysville. Even in rush hour that's where it usually opens up. And just 5 minutes from there is the 70 mph limit. But DO NOT SPEED in Marysville. They are there every day in both directions. In you keep it 3 or 4 over they won't mess with you.

I live at the south end of Lake Samish. It's a Bham address but it's about 10 minutes south, and I can probably get to Providence in 50 minutes give or take.

Thumbs up Nice drive!

That is a nice drive. Once you are north of Everett, it seems to open up. For some reason, there is always an accident in or around Everett that slows traffic down! the drive up to Bellingham is nice!
