Default True Autumn along the coast?

What's the weather like between September to December? Do you get much Fall color there?

I'm looking for a smallish town with a quaint artsy craftsy atmosphere, low crime, beautiful scenery (must have lots of trees), open-minded people, a farmers market, craft fairs, nice places to hike in the forest with a dog, and a real community feeling...with affordable housing <200k for a 3bd 2bath.

I know it's asking for a lot? Any suggestions would be welcome

Unfortunately, you won't find a real fall like the ones back east. More like a soppy, gray and green fall. The alders and maples change color, but the landscape is mostly green. September usually has some dry days and October also- but you'll have rain/overcast through Nov. and December (and the rest of the winter/spring).

Look at Port Angeles- you *might* find a house in your price range. It's on the strait, not the coast. Port Townsend sounds more like what you're looking for, but you'd need to raise your price to find a 3BR/2BA there.

Also check out bmsea's posts on Westport.

If you don't happen to be in the area, we've been experiencing fall for the past couple of weeks!
