Default Thinking of moving to Roslyn...

I know, I know, it's touristy and tacky to move out there, but I want to move somewhere to do nothing, you know? I'm self-emplo***, so not having a job is no problem.

Anyone know anyone from Roslyn? Do they have the "normal" apartments or house/room rentals there?

Any and all info given will be greatly appreciated. Also if anyone know any helpful websites, bring 'em on!

Many Thanks...

Doug

Doug,

I'm afraid I haven't been to Roslyn, so I can't say if there are many apartments there. However, these links might be helpful:

http://realestate.yahoo.com/homes/Ro...ategories.html

http://www.realtor.com/

City-Data says the median gross rent for 2000 was $620. Roslyn is a beautiful area from what I've heard, and I do think you will like it!

Hope that helps.

Alcon

Well I have and Roslyn is a great place, sounds exactly what you may be looking for. Dont worry about anything you have heard as far as what it may be like, its a pearly white neighborhood with very good crime statistics, great schools in Nassau County and Roslyn is no slouch as far as services-shopping or anything you may want right at your fingertips. Its either a train ride to Manhattan or a car ride into the city if you feellike it and can find parking in about 25-30 minutes. It is really one of the few places that I would leave here for and I have been in the 5 towns my entire life.

I dont have to tell you about the golfing on Long Island either right?

websites, if you have one of those weather watching programs they usually have "live" feeds coming from the towns so you can get a look at a street or 2 that way I cant recall the name this minute but a "google.com" search will bring all the Roslyn information and sites that you could possibly imagine at your fingertips so have a ball! Also, with all that free time if you ever want to play around with the poker explosion just let me know I will actually come to your house if we have to and set it up for ya or you can visit my blog and read my ramblings on lief and poker but let me warn you its a work in progress Ok?

I really can not see you loving it to tell you the truth!

Pete

Eh, I think they mean Rosyln, Washington. As in Northern Exposure.
Great little town. Property I am guessing is going to be high.
But, if you can find something then you would have to drive to Cle Elm or Ellensbury for supplies and medical etc.
Snow in winter, warm in summer, still a tourist town.
Good taverns and simple food.
