If you could give us a better idea of why you are looking in the Yelm or Olympia area, that would be most helpful. Is it for a job?

I don't mind Yelm, but there is almost nothing there. Olympia has a ton of things to do, but housing (even rent) is at crazy amounts. If you don't mind a 30 minute commute, I would look a little further south in the Centralia or Chehalis area.

Cynthia,

First of all, "Welcome to Washington!".
Luckily you don't have to worry too much about humidity in our neck of the woods.
The city of Lacey is a bit closer to Yelm than Olympia. Home prices there start in the low $200k. Yelm offers more affordable housing, but as kc2sweet pointed out, there is not as much happening in Yelm as there is in Olympia. Yelm is growing, however. It has a movie theater, as well as bowling, golfing, shopping and restaurants.
Of course you would fit-in in Olympia, or elsewhere for that matter, as a divorced single.

Sandy
