Hi, I am moving to Ft. Lewis in a few months and will be stationed there a few years. I am looking for a 1-2 bedroom apartment in the price range of $700-$900/month.

Does anyone have any reccomendations on areas/apartments that are within 30 minutes distance from ft. lewis? I am looking at Tacoma or Olympia, but I am open to other areas. I am open to both an apartment in the city (so I could walk to dinner, etc) but also wouldn't mind living outside the city.
Any suggestions would be very helpful!!!! Thanks so much.

You may also want to consider Lacey or Dupont. Dupont is convenient because it's just across the Interstate from JBLM. It has a cute and walkable downtown.
Good luck!

Okay thank you! That does help a lot. Do you think it is a tad (almost too close) to Ft Lewis? I like the military clientele to work with but wanted to be able to live far enough where I would still have a civilian lifestyle.
Thank you again!!!

Dupont is mainly 3+ bedroom homes at $1200 or more a month.

Olympia or Lacey will be a better bet. It's close and traffic is good.

I think that Olympia would be a potentially good choice. There are quite a few apartments in decent areas to choose from there.
