Default Oak Harbor real estate agent?

Hi there,
I'm really happy to have found this forum! My wife and I have our house in escrow and are saying goodby to high taxes, bureaucratic politics, outrageous gasoline prices and a host of other things!! We are happy to leave and look forward to moving.

After searching various posts about Anacortes and Whidbey We feel as though we will probably be able to get more value for our money on Whidbey Is. It seems as though one can find a newer home on a larger lot for the same or less amount of money. If we are wrong, please correct us.

From our perspective it seems that although Anacortes is trendy and quaint, Whidbey would have a more diverse appeal in as much as it also has the small quaint areas as well as the more traditional shopping areas with a few big box stores. We have been to the Island and really enjoyed our brief stay of two days. We visited O.H. Coupeville, Penn Cove, saw the West side and then took the ferry to Port Townsend. I would have liked to have visited Langley and ventured further South but didn't have the time.

When we arrive, we plan to stay at the North Whidbey R.V. park and take our time in search for our new home. We will spend lots and lots of time looking at various areas trying to find that special place. Hense our question about a R.E. agent that would be highly reccomended. We have, in the past, had agents who simply would not listen to what we were saying we wanted. We would feel guilty if we just abandoned them so we stuck with them but ultimatley found the house ourselves and had our agent seal the deal. But we really did the leg work ourselves. So, we would like some one who can help us properly from the git go.

If any one has any suggestions please let us know.

Thanks.
