Relocating To Kitsap Peninsula.
Will be working at the Clearwater Casino. Can anyone give me information about the peninsula in general and where the best places might be to live?
I want to buy a condo or town house nearby the casino. Any suggestions anyone? Are there problems with congestion that are associated with Seattle?
Thanks in advance.
Nick

I would say Port Orchard. What kind of requirements do you have for housing? This will help us better answer your question.

Poulsbo is only 5 miles away from the casino. It looks like there are plenty of condos available for either sale or rent, but you should check with a realtor for your specific needs (Windermere and John L. Scott both have offices here--just do an online search). Kitsap Peninsula is beautiful, with lots of wooded areas and waterfront towns. Kayaking, sailing, biking and hiking are popular. People are very friendly and welcoming. Plus Seattle is just a ferry ride away for the city stuff.
We just moved to Poulsbo 3 months ago and we love it here. No traffic to speak of, especially in comparison to Seattle, or Orlando, where we moved from. There are a few bottleneck areas during morning and evening "drive time" due to road construction, but you soon find side streets to get around them.
Good luck with your new job! Hope you find a great place to live.

If you are working at Clearwater, then Poulsbo is a very nice area that is very close. It is a little more expensive than most other parts of Kitsap with the exception of Bainbridge island.
Good luck.

I agree with all the suggestions about Poulsbo. A 2 bedroom condo there will run you in the $160 - $200K range. The only congestion problems associated with Seattle are when the ferry lets out. There’s only one hwy leading from the Bainbridge ferry, so traffic after a ferry docks is pretty heavy. If you time it right, you can miss most of the traffic along Hwy 305. Also the traffic greatly diminishes at the casino, since many of the cars turn and head toward Indianola/Suquamish/Kingston, so the traffic between the casino and Poulsbo is a lot better than on Bainbridge.
