I always agree with BrightCopperKettles

I'm from SO Calif, and wish I knew more about it up here - I used to love rain and clouds - but if I knew it was never ending for 10 months I would have never moved here.

Thanks Bightcopperkettles, what you have mentioned is what we are most concerned about. I plan on taking the whole family out there during the winter before we make any decisions. South Carolina is beautiful, have you thought about moving back? I know the cost of living has got to be much lower in SC.

Oh, my gosh, if you could hear me chuckling at that question!! You bet I have thought about it; I think about it 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. I just pray and pray and pray about it. Problem is, husband won't move to the South, and I love my husband. So I just keep praying.

Make sure that everyone in the family understands the weather and the differences in the people and the kind of lives they lead up here before you decide to move and that they're all okay with those things. If any one of them is absolutely NOT okay, then you should keep looking, I think.

My husband loved it out there but he has ALOT of hesitation about moving out there. He's okay with moving but seems to like other southern states better, I will make sure we agree because the PNW is beautiful but not enough to leave my husband for!

The PNW IS beautiful but may I suggest you visit upstate SC before you make your decision. Check out the Fort Mill/Lancaster area (just south of Charlotte, NC) as well as the Greenville-Spartanburg area and then decide. You might also check out Welcome to the Center for Carolina Living for more information on these areas.

Good luck, honey!
