Everett is a very blue collar city with it's share of crime. I don't consider it to be very scary, but it is definitely not a high-end city. Lots of apartments, strip malls and older homes.

We will be heading your way once our house sells. Are you near Cascade High School?

Our son will be attending there. I have read some of your other posts. Have you met anyone yet to socialize with?

I'm planning on moving to Everett also. Is the Greens at Merrill Creek a good apartment complex? I've been looking around for more info on Everett, but haven't found nothing too specific.

If one were to go by the ratings and horror stories, I don't think there's any place in the Everett-Lynnwood area, they don't call "a hood", "gangs", "drug depot", "party central", "moldy dump", and "kiss your car goodbye." It's really strange and disappointing. I was told this area's full of nicer cheaper apts than Seattle - they appear equal nearly, but it seems to me all the Seattle problems moved out to the quieter apts without secure garages or something, and I guess it's where the people who can't afford Seattle live, in the apts, or something. I'm pretty much at a complete loss myself, so I hope someone can point you in the direction of low-crime.

Anyway, how else can someone explain a supposedly better area, and yet I can't find more than 2 places I feel safe enough to even book an apt, much less live there. ?? Saw Everett on a House Hunting show, and the town looked really cute, as did the streets with houses. Maybe it's just the apt complexes which corrals the riffraff, and lucky us?

I've been to Everett many times in the past. My husband has family there and on the island but it has been ten years now and I don't remember things being quite as bad as some described. There were great neighborhoods with
family's and kids playing. I guess you have to take it all with a grain of salt.
Any way we are now committed to going. Our house and other properties are up for sale and I don't want to live in Fl anymore. Our house in Everett is currently rented out but needs work now and so we are headed north! I'm already there mentally. Got to go!!!!
