Default Fall Season Fruits - Grayland Cranberrys

I'm going to the Cranberry Festival this weekend in Grayland... The bogs are a really neat site during harvest time. Grays Harbor Transit is giving guided tours for $1. "Bite of the Beach" is a chance to taste some regional favorites for as little as a quarter. Weather reports are calling for 62 and Sunny on Saturday.
More info can be found at: http://www.cranberrycoastcoc.com/festival/index.html

I rate the cranberry bogs on the ocean right up there with the tulips in spring as a very unique-to-washington sight.

What other fall harvest events in Washington are not to be missed?

Also in Grayland (Twin Harbors Park), the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife has opened a four-night clam dig for the last weekend of October - Oct 25-28. Not fruit, but a harvest of another sort. Another uniquely Washington activity (digging around elbow deep in sand by lantern light).

This is a great activity for families and children, especially for kids that are old enough to follow directions.

How I wish I could go clamming. I haven't done that since 1979 or 80. Have fun.
