Smile Sudden Valley

I see that there seems to be a lot of homes for sale in Sudden Valley. Is this because it is a large area or is there something that those not familiar with the area should know? I have checked the website and they do seem to be pretty strict with the deed restrictions so I don't know if that is the reason people move a lot. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks!

Sudden Valley has a reputation for having a very onerous and restrictive homeowner's association. I knew a couple of people that had lived there when I lived in Skagit County the they both couldn't wait to move out.

Default RE: Sudden Valley

Sudden Valley IS a beautiful area....a short drive (about 15-20 minutes) east of Bellingham.
LOTS of Evergreen trees and some hilly roads in the neighborhood.
Nice golf course, a marina and Lake Whatcom.
Problems I have heard of though.....are:
(1). Homeowners Assoc.?
(2). Issues regarding the water supply.
(3). A lot of propane-heated homes which, IMO....can get a bit pricey.
(4). Sooo MUCH dense forest foliage that sunlight rarely gets through too well....even on the sunny days.
(5). Some fairly hilly roads that can become a bit treacherous whenever its cold enough that ice and snow occur.
(6). Lots of moss growing on rooftops and leaves clogging gutters.....also, mold issues.
(7). MORE rain than even in Bellingham.
These are the biggest negatives I am aware of in Sudden Valley....but, like I mentioned.....it IS a VERY nice area and a gorgeous little commute along Lk. Whatcom to B'Ham.
