My wife and I are relocating from Holloman AFB NM to Mcchord AFB and are thinking about moving into the windemere apartments in STEILACOOM. WE are going into this a little blind, so please if anyone has any information or warnings about STEILACOOM please do tell.

Default No Way

I would not move there. Lots of crime, gangs and run down. Some pockets are ok but Puyallup 20 min east or Dupont 20 min south would be a better choice.University Place is another option.

Groovy123 got that right. I don't think I have ever been in an area of steilcoom that was nice. Not saying there is no areas that are nice, but as a whole, I would strongly recommend widening you search.

It looks like the area around the apts you would move into looks moderately OK, almost guaranteed that you will be driving through some pretty rough looking neighborhoods.

Most love our military here and would hate to see you get a bad impression of our fine area.

If you have the chance to take the neighborhood tour before signing a contract, you would be best advised to do so, otherwise I would recommend not signing a long term contract.
