Default University Place

My husband and I may have found the apartments we like, but it is kinda hard to really know whatyou are getting into by online pics alone..anyone know anything about the are (University Place) or the apartments named Stone Pointe? I was thinking about living in Steilacoom, but I have changed my mind due to postings of high crime in the area. Any info would help

Thanks guys!

I do not know anything about the Stone Pointe apts but your avoidance of Steilacoom, while wise, begs to ask the question: by moving 4 miles north, what are you gaining? Every city has the good and the bad areas. As for the areas from Tacoma south to Lakewood along the I-5 corridor you generally will get areas that are similar in appearance and style to what you were wanting to avoid with Steilacoom.

If there is any way you can look to the east side of I-5 toward Puyallup you will find that living conditions will get better. The only problem will be less apartments.

I don't know about the apartments but I know where they are and it's a decent area. I have not heard about crime in Steilacoom and I live down the road from there in Oakbrook subdivision of Lakewood. UP is OK, but expensive, taxes high, they are going thru growing pains. Puyallup has bad traffic but some nice areas as the other poster said. You could look at apartments off of Canyon Road and 112th - it may be Midland, not sure if it is still Tacoma there or Puyallup, or Midland but they are right by freeway so could be noisy. I think you maybe made a good choice with Stone Pointe. We used to live on n. end of Tacoma in the Cypress Cove apartments and liked it there - the manager was very strict with the tenants (Dottie) and there was a security guard.
