Default Ft. Lewis and Seattle

I'm moving to Washington and my husband will be at Ft. Lewis, when he gets back, but until then I'll be living by myself. I'm hoping to get a job in Seattle, and I have found the most opportunities in North Seattle. I'm wondering where I would feel the safest living by myself for a little while that in between the base and Seattle. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Liebedichimmer,

Bist Du vielleicht auch Deutsche?
If your husband will be at Ft. Lewis, he will have one heck of a commute if you live anywhere north of Federal Way. If you enjoy hip city life, you might like to live in Tacoma's north end. If you want a more quiet lifestyle then perhaps Edgewood and Milton would be a good choice. Another area I would consider is Fife. There has been a lot of new single family homes, condos and apartement development beyond the industrial/commercial strip.
If you have any more questions feel free to send me a personal message.

Sandy

I would not suggest doing a commute from Ft Lewis to Seattle. It's just too much and after a while, it will grind on you. Yes, I know they don't look very far apart on a map, and x amount of miles doesn't seem like much, but W WA is a very densely populated area and I-5 takes on ALOT of traffic. Try to look closer to Ft Lewis.
