Default Where to find short term cabin rentals

I'm interested in starting a new family tradition of renting a cabin over the holidays (Thanksgiving maybe, Christmas definately) where my family and I can go and get away from all the busyness. I'd like somewhere with snow at Christmas.

How do I go about finding cabin rentals? What are the price ranges of something like that? We don't need anything big, one big room would be fine, my boys are 2 and 5. I'd need a kitchen.

We live in Lake Stevens, so I'd assume we'd need to look somewhere along Stevens Pass or the North Cascades.

Can anyone point me in the right direction? TIA!

Leavenworth, definitely. We have done that many times when we lived in WA, and still go back even now from OR. A good starting place to look for what fits your needs is Leavenworth, Washington The Bavarian Village and then go to lodging. A place that is not listed there that we LOVED is Eagle Creek Cottage. Fantastic little place! One place that I believe is listed on that site, is Still Waters Lodge. We liked that too, but Eagle Creek had more atmosphere, etc.

Off of Highway 12 heading East toward Yakima there is White Pass ski resort. While there aren't cabins there, the surrounding areas do have cabins. My family has stayed at a privately owned cabin in Packwood before and really enjoyed it. look at White Pass Ski Resort: Lodging (broken link) for specific places, although it may be a bit far from Lake Stevens. Also near Snoqualmie pass there are lots of private cabins. Lake Kachess is a beautiful area, most cabins are privately owned though, maybe a google search could help. I know there is a new little "neighborhood" being built near Lake Kachess, and Christmas is almost always snowy.

I just rented a cabin in Leavenworth for the Thanksgiving weekend. I hope there'll be snow. Our family frequently rents cabins and vacation cottages for short getaways in throughout the year. I always go to the for rent by owner website at Rental Homes | Vacation Rentals | Homes For Rent | For Rent By Owner I hope you'll be able to find something suitable there.
