Yes I agree. Monroe is a nice place. But they lack the main shopping area such as Target, or something like that. Not so far from Monroe (going West on 522) Is the Woodinville, Matlby area. This area is the "middle area" between Woodinvill (your nearest Target store) and the great green area of Monroe.

Single mother issues? I don't think I have heard about any, or seen any. I am the child of a single mother, who lives in the maltby area. Never had issues with it before.

Would a vegetarian be able to eat in these cities you have been suggesting?
I have been a vegetarian for over 50 years. Where I don't eat meat has never been an issue.

If you are looking for trendy vegetarian fad restaurants serving fancy "new cuisine" at outrageous prices, you will find plenty of them in Seattle.

Its so remote and small town and has nothing going for it really. I think I've been there once in my life despite living in Western Washington most all of my life.

I haven't been to Forks since the Smith Mill shut down.

The big event was the Sawyers and Loggers picnic where once a year you could see the world's largest gathering of old drunks with missing fingers.

I don't know who lives there now, or why.

What about fireplaces? Do most homes in these areas normally come equipped with them? Also, I know it rains often, but when it does is it a storm or just constant drizzle? What about thunder and lightning? Is it ever a warm rain?

Yes, many houses have fireplaces. The rain is cold (I remember one warmish rainfall in the past 20 years). Thunder and lightening is rare, but happens occasionally. We get windstorms in winter and sometimes heavy rains, but predominantly cold drizzle.
