Question Bonney Lake -Snow question

Does anyone know how much snow (even if a small amount) that Bonney Lake receives on average a year? or approximately during a snowfall? 2 inches, 6" or more? all at one time? total for the season, etc?

When I look up the weather sites they say an average of 8.9 inches. Not sure exactly what that means. Also is there an issue with ice on the streets or just the snow?

Sorry for another weather question, I just couldn't find this info anywhere.

Thanks!!!

(oops meant Pierce County-sorry)

same as most parts of western Washington. Maybe 2-3 inches at once a few times a year, never stays more than a day (usually) with the exception of last winter where it stayed for a week (I actually wasn't in Bonney Lake for that so they probably had more than 6" that one week). That 8.9 inches would be total snowfall annually.

Bonney Lake is like a plateau on top of a mountain, so it's usually 5 degrees colder than down in Tacoma/Seattle and will get more snow (mostly dustings that melt the next day).

It really depends on what part of Bonney Lake you live though. The roads are worse by the lake because they are windy, up n down all around, and might get extra moisture from the water. When those roads freeze, look out. South of 410 probably not so much since it's mostly flat.

We might be in for another cold one (with snow) this year if this week is any indicator!

Xenobion is on a distinguished road
Bonney Lake is on Eli Hill in which Lake Tapps and itself lie. It is the begging foothill of the Cascades. Frankly the area is tricky when it comes to snow. Washington doesn't get much snow really but areas like this seem to get snow a lot more. It isn't a vast amount and you'll never really be snowed in but my concern is that if you ever wanted to go to the surrounding cities like Sumner, Puyallup, Auburn, Tacoma you are dealing with a dangerous hill to go down via Highway 410. If you look at google maps and follow East Valley Highway then becoming Pioneer Way, that is the bottom of the hill. With that said 410 is usually well sanded since its a major thruway for Buckley and Enumclaw so I wouldn't be totally paranoid of going down a snowy hillside, but its there.

Thanks for your replies everyone! I absolutely love the snow so this gives me hopes that the kids might actually get to make a snowman one day

Hope everyone has a Happy Thanksgiving!

Yep they should get a few chances to make snowmen, especially this year.

I don't think 410 ever gets a chance to freeze up with all the traffic on it these days.
