I am a 22 year old from Florida and I will be moving to Seattle next may for an internship in Renton, WA and I was hoping you native Seattleites could help me answer the following questions:

1) Weather: Coming from the South the summer there are two types of summer weather: humid hot and dry hot. Everyone is always seen in shirts and shorts or tanks and shorts and I am expecting the weather in Washington to be almost completely different especially in the Summer. How's the weather like in Seattle from May to August?

2) Transportation/Metro: I don't currently own a car on my own and I really don't want to have to use one of my parents' cars to make the trip all the way to Seattle when I move there so I am seriously considering not bringing a car unless I HAVE to bring one. At the same time I want to explore the city, go downtown on the weekends/happy hours, etc from Renton. Is this possible solely relying on the Seattle Metro Transportation system in general wherever I live or is a car a must especially if I decide to live in Renton?

3) Areas to Live: What are some of the best areas to live for a younger person like me that is relatively close to Renton and easily accessible to metro to and from Renton (if Seattle Metro is good)? A few people told me Greenlake and U-District but I don't know exactly how far those are from Renton? Any suggestions or places to avoid would be greatly appreciated

4) Recreation/Entertainment: I am a huge film guy and I am trying to look into going to SIFF (Seattle International Film Festival). From there website though I couldn't find how the pricing works for passes? For those of you that know and have experience going to SIFF I would love to hear if its worth going to!

Thanks!

Weather from May to mid-July is likely to be cloudy and rarely higher than 70. Weather from Mid-July to August is likely to be sunny and warm in the mid to upper 70s, with some days in the 80s. Nights tend to be cool, in the low 60s.

Bus Service in Renton is pretty good. If you can land yourself a place near the light rail line it would be even better.
