Default Craftsman houses for 100,000 maximum

Is there anywhere in WA where the cost of living is cheap and I can get a an older craftsman houses for under 100,000.....I enjoy great riverfronts, and nostalgic, cutesy downtowns. Is this possible in WA?

Do you mean the Craftsman architecture movement of the early 20th Century? No.
"Riverfront" houses for $100,000? -- no.
A house in a "nostalgic, cutesy downtown" for $100,000? -- no.

Washington is not wilderness, except the state and national parks. The only way "the cost of living is cheap" in Washington is if you grow and raise everything yourself, the costs of which activities are constantly rising.

You might want to read threads in the Washington forum here -- all the information you're looking for will be there. And you might also want to look at realtor.com.

You can get a fixer Craftsman house in Centralia for under $100,000. It won't be on the river, but it will be walking distance to a charming downtown.

Might want to be careful advertising fixers in that area right now, given recent events.

Are you handy? I've seen some fixers in Tacoma area (probably not the best neighborhoods) for that price range. If you were hovering more around 200,000 you'd have a lot more luck.

No, not even close in Burien (or even in South Park).
You could try Aberdeen. Homes there are pretty cheap.

Yes, probably Centralia, but it is such a mess right now. You might look in Kittitas County, and Pacific County as well as Grays Harbor (Aberdeen, as someone suggested). Sumner, in Pierce County, is perfect except for the price - a little downtown with lots of Craftsman homes.

It's so annoying these days that every single new house is supposedly "Craftsman." They slap up some fascia board and suddenly it's Craftsman...hardly!!
