Yes Leavenworth is a city in Kansas well known for its prison system. It is also a small tourist town in Central Washington that has a Bavarian theme that has qualities similar to a federal prison. Despite the ultra capitalistic nature of the its persona Leavenworth, WA is populated by Seattle yuppies and ultra "Crunchy" peoples who live alternative lifestyles. German sausage, microbrew and a huge sense of entitlement is abound. Top selling items include replacement Subaru parts, outdoor gear and organic Kumbacha. Skiing is the towns claim to fame. Maybe one of the smallest towns in redneck Washington to actually have an organic farmers market. Recycling is mandatory and so is owning several thousands of dollars of different kinds of skis. Rugged individualism is a must to be involved in the local social scene, this lifestyle is fueled by the excess of "Crunchy nugs bro". Leavenworth Safeway no longer carries hygienic products due to the fact that the local demographic bathes in the river to avoid smelling like "the man". You may get dirty looks from "Crunchy" people in this town because they are upset at the fact they had to get a job and blame you for being part of the system.

I laughed. This is so true. The level of conformity in Leavenworth is like hell on earth.
