Default Need help deciding where to go!!!

Looking for land that would be suitable for a homestead farm (25-50 acres) . We are moving from FL and want something rural where we can homeschool the kids and relax (no more hurricanes please!!! )
Washington sounds wonderful, but I am not sure where to start looking. Taxes and high costs don't really scare me, after living in south florida for the past few years very little could shock me.
But I am looking for something where we can raise our animals, raise our kids and go into town for extra-curricular activities for the kids...
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Start with dividing the state at the cascade range. Western Washington is what most people think of as "washington". High population, wet weather, traffic. There are homesteads like this available, typically in the northern and southern areas of Western Washington, which has less population and less traffic.

If you want 4 seasons and summer weather that will be dry and hot, then consider Eastern Washington. There are tons of areas where you can get land of this size, too many to mention.

Much depends on what kind of weather you want, and how close to civilization you want to be.

Thank you Dufferz! I had read here that Ellensburg has some acreage, we are looking into it!!! I would like 4 seasons definitely, after being in FL for so long I'd kill for anything below 50!! And snow, I do like snow!! Any suggestions on what cities on the east would be a good area to look at? Being close to civilization is not required, hubby and I both work at home and we are planning to homeschool kids, would like at least a close-by town for medical and other such necessities, otherwise I would be fine off the beaten path!!

Central Washington (Ellensburg, Yakima, Wenatchee) would give you what I would consider the best of both worlds. From there you are 2 hours from Seattle, 3 hours from Spokane, all three cities are larger than most in the region, the winter temps can get in the single digits, summer highs in the 90's, but dry. Land in comparatively cheap and the lifestyle is typically laid back.
