I'd like to know if the area near the airport is safe or sketchy. That's one area I'm thinking of moving to (from out of state), and though I know crime is low in PT, I'd like to know more about that neighborhood. Plane noise doesn't bother me, as I live under two flight paths now.

Have you been there? At least look at google street view. It is not much an airport. 97% general aviation, 3% air taxi. Rural 5 acre lots west and north, to the south is 4 corners road with a mix of houses and small business. To the east is hwy 19 businesses.

North east, is some more upscale subdivisions around Fort Townsend State park.. South East is Port Haddlock/Irondale which I suppose could be considered to be the "roughest" community in eastern Jefferson county.

With out knowing anything about you here, I am going to suggest the area around Fort Townsend State park.

Why by the "airport"?

Thanks for your response. I was asking about that area, because there is a property for rent that I'm considering near there
